For all 'First Aid' courses within IAHD we use the courses of DAN (Divers Alert Network). These are the courses in which you can learn, for instance, how to perform first aid, how to administer medicinal oxygen or how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). IAHD is a full partner of DAN.
The Water Safety courses of DAN (Divers Alert Network) are training courses that deal with the safety and management of accidents that can occur during or immediately after swimming in indoor or outdoor water.
Oxygen First Aid for Aquatic Emergencies (AQUATIC)
The DAN Oxygen First Aid for Aquatic Emergencies, or Aquatic Oxygen Provider, is designed to train participants to recognize possible aquatic related injuries and to provide emergency oxygen first aid pending the arrival of local medical services.
Hazardous Marine Life Injuries (HMLI)
The DAN course “First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries”, teaches participants how to recognise dangerous marine life forms, to recognise wounds inflicted by dangerous marine life forms, to administer first aid treatment to a patient who has suffered injury by dangerous marine life forms and to avoid receiving an injury from dangerous marine life forms.
